This is not a romance novel review, but it is a review about love. I love desserts, and I also love a good glass of wine. Some days, it can be really hard to decide which one I love more. Then I found The Boozy Baker and all my issues went away.
Lucy Baker had the same problem I did, so she developed 75 “recipes for spirited sweets,” and stuck them in this perfectly named cookbook. The book is paperback, which is hard to hold open when you’re trying to follow a recipe, and a few of the recipes don’t have pictures, but I love everything else about this cookbook
All the dessert recipes are appropriate for entertaining, though if you want to bake and drink alone, I’m certainly not going to judge. Baker includes almost every form of spirits – liqueurs, wines, and beers – into pies, cakes, tarts, cookies and sundaes. She also gives you a handy guide for alcoholic drinks to serve with your alcoholic desserts – no joke!
